Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to create a working environment that drives excellence in Safety, Quality, productivity and customer service.

  • Lead efforts to develop and implement plans to meet or exceed requirements for product quality, cost and on-time delivery.

  • Assist with developing and implementing continuous plant improvements utilizing lean manufacturing tools to increase productivity and reduce waste.

  • Develop, implement and maintain financial strategies for the plant including future personnel, equipment and facility needs. Analyze data and create reports for executive review.

Monitor and assist Shipping/Receiving Department making sure product is handled and shipped correctly and in a timely manner

Work with Human Resources to recruit, hire and coach employees ensuring they are well trained to perform their duties effectively.

Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and guidance to all plant employees.

Responsible for the maintenance of property, building, plant and production facilities.

Organize repairs and routine maintenance of production equipment, including preventive maintenance program.

Perform simple machine and equipment repairs and may be required to perform activities of workers supervised. Equipment utilization and optimizing labor critical to manage P&L.

Leads Team of up to 20 employees across 2 shifts.

Balances full time employees against contract labor during seasonality of business.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Over 7 years' experience in key leadership/management role at a manufacturing facility.

  • Bachelor's degree in business or Operations preferred but not required.

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs.

  • Hands on style, not afraid to get their hands dirty.

  • Proven team leader who possesses good listening and communication abilities.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanically inclined

  • Ability to motivate people, plus assess and develop employee skills.

  • Previous experience/best practices using continuous improvement skills such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, etc. to drive improvement.

  • Good computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP systems (Epicor).
