JOB SUMMARYThe Postal Clerk works at an onsite Post Office and handles incoming and outgoing mail for distribution. Stays up-to-date with all USPS requirements. Completes daily post office business and administrative functions including managing cash drawers, deposits and money order tracking.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLEPerforms mailroom functions, including accurately sorting incoming mail from USPS and various couriers to designated PO Box recipients.Operates and maintains all facility assigned equipment.Processes outgoing shipments to USPS.Provides postage, mail delivery and proper packaging materials and instructions while meeting constant deadlines .Manages packages, including verifying all delivered packages are for recipients in the correct location .Completes and maintains accurate records as required by USPS.Communicates to supervisor any and all occurrences involving staff and visitors that require attention.Complete daily business and administrative functions as required by USPS (i.e. daily business deposit, manages cash drawers, completes money order tracking log).Completes all USPS required training within USPS imposed deadlines.KEY SUCCESS FACTORSAble to provide consistently excellent customer service with empathy, patience and confidence.Able to work effectively with others in a team setting, sharing data and analysis, and collaborating to solve problems together.Must have critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Able to communicate thoughts clearly; both verbally and in writing.Able to perform tasks independently without need for routine oversight.Able to maintain a calm and helpful attitude, even under times of stress, and take appropriate and reasonable steps to resolve issues.Able to work carefully, with a high attention to detail.Able to prioritize in a fast paced environment.Basic computer skills, including but not limited to: typing, information security, electronic medical documentation, hand held scanning and email.BENEFITSOur competitive benefits package includes the followingImmediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits
