This person will work with a multi-organizational team of systems engineers and architects who will drive the evolution of cloud network fabric, tools, and processes from what we use today on Network Cloud to the emerging Microsoft Azure for Operators (AfO) platform. Working with domain leads who represent AT&T’s business requirements, platform architects, and network system engineers, this person will define and document networking and operations capabilities and features required to support Mobility services on the AfO platform. They will create designs at a level of detail that can be consumed by internal development teams and by Microsoft to ensure integrated end-to-end solutions achieve AT&T’s business goals.This person will also work with product owners that support fabric and fabric automation enhancements on the existing Network Cloud platform. New capabilities are required on Network Cloud fabric to ensure it supports the evolution and growth of Mobility core and FirstNet services for the next several years.As a systems engineer/designer for Fabric and Fabric Automation of the network evolution to AfO, this person will be responsible for some subset of the following work:Take new enhancement requests and, working with ETE architects and network systems engineers, define the detailed fabric and fabric automation features for internal AT&T systems.

Negotiate internally and with Microsoft to define demarcations of functionality between AT&T and Microsoft.

Collaborate with Microsoft on the roadmap and solutioning to ensure a complete understanding of AT&T needs so AfO meets the critical requirements to support the functionality, operability, scalability, security, and resiliency that is essential for AT&T’s Mobility services.

Define and document APIs between AT&T and Microsoft.

Work internally to create AfO acceptance test plans for fabric and fabric automation capabilities so they properly exercise the critical service, operations, and deployment needs.

Drive technical solutions into the DevOps team and ensure the capabilities developed meet the business needs.

This position is instrumental to the success of delivering on existing Network Cloud fabric commitments and executing AT&T’s new strategic alliance with Microsoft.Required Qualifications :Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

8-10 years experience in technology development.

Effective collaboration with executives, Labs teams, Product, IT, operations, and vendors

Demonstrated systems engineering on both broad end-to-end architecture as well as drill down on specific technologies

Strong written and oral communications skills

Background in Network Cloud fabric and fabric automation systems

Background in AT&T Layer 2 and Layer 3 architecture and design for cloud platforms and Mobility services

Understanding of black box, gray box, and white box devices, networking, and device configurations to enable services and connectivity

Background in AT&T core and edge networking

Background in Virtual RAN and Open RAN architecture and design

Cloud fabric and fabric automation to support large scale telco grade services

Background in Hyperscaler cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure

Ability to speak knowledgeably with Network, Mobility, and Operations technical teams and translate their needs into concrete business requirements

Ability to translate business requirements into a technical architecture/design

Ability to evaluate whether a technical design meets business requirements

Ability to talk knowledgeably to network and fabric automation architecture, design, development, and test teams to represent the business requirements to those teams
