Primary Purpose

Responsible for the preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair of radiological and special imaging equipment, while adhering to safety codes and regulations to ensure that all systems are operating safely and at optimum performance levels.

Minimum Specifications

Education
  • Must have five (5) years of experience in radiological and diagnostic imaging service and repair

Equivalent Education and/or Experience
  • May have an equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above.
  • May have formal manufacturer technical service trainings and certifications for diagnostic imaging equipment in lieu of education or experience.
  • One year experience credit received per each successfully completed manufacture training certification focused on diagnostic imaging/radiological equipment technology, four (4) cert max, used only when qualifying for job.

Skills or Special Abilities
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the use and maintenance of radiological equipment within the initial ninety day appraisal period.
  • Must be physically able to lift heavy loads, walk, stand for extended periods, and climb ladders.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the repair of radiological and special imaging equipment to ensure that equipment problems are resolved.
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance functions for radiological and special imaging equipment to ensure that the number and frequency of system failures is kept at a minimum.
  • Maintains records of maintenance and preventive maintenance operations according to established policies and procedures to ensure that accurate documentation is maintained and that work is charged and paid correctly.
  • Assists the radiology department with construction and remodeling projects to provide advice as needed to support projects goals.
  • Works with facilities and engineering to ensure that work is completed and that funds are transferred.
  • Monitors major product installations and initial set-ups to ensure that work is performed according to established policies and procedures.
  • Keeps department free of old furniture, computers, and equipment. Transfers machines when necessary to control internal inventory of depreciated equipment and parts.
