This position is located at deHaro-Saldivar Health Center, 1400 N. Westmoreland Rd, Dallas, TX 75211.

We are a retail pharmacy operating within one of Parkland’s many Community-Oriented Primary Care clinics throughout Dallas county. As a part of this team you will be assisting patients and clinic staff with obtaining their medication as well as assisting them with navigating within the Parkland system. While this pharmacy is only open Monday through Friday there is a weekend staffing component (about 5 to 6 shifts per year) that covers our larger discharge pharmacy located on the main hospital campus. PrimaryPurpose

Providesdirectsupporttopharmacistsandpharmacystaffinpreparingorders,packagingandlabeling,trackinginventory,maintaining records,cashiering/paymentcollectionsandperformingclericalduties.

MinimumSpecifications

Education

  • Must havea HighSchool diploma or GED.
  • Preferredsomecollegecourses.
  • PreferredcompletionofACPEorASHPaccreditedpharmacytechniciantrainingprogram.

Experience

  • Prefersexperienceinpriorpharmacytechnicianhealthsystemrolessuchasinpatientpharmacy,IV/Infusionpharmacy,retailpharmacy,mailorderpharmacy,and/orpharmacyrepackaging.

EquivalentEducationand/orExperience

Certification/Registration/Licensure

  • MustholdacurrentCertifiedPharmacy Technician(CPhT)certificationbyexamfromtheNationalPharmacyTechnician

CertificationBoard(PTCE)ortheNationalHealthcareAssociation (ExCPT).

  • MusthavecurrentregistrationwiththeTexasStateBoardofPharmacy.
  • Failuretopassexamination orcomply withprimaryrequirements willresultinterminationortheopportunitytoapplyforapostednon-pharmacytechnicianpositionwithParkland

RequiredTestsforPlacement

  • Mustcompleteapre-employmentpolygraphtest.
  • Mustbeableto passPharmacy mathandspellingtestwithaminimum scoreof 80%.

SkillsorSpecialAbilities

  • Mustbeabletodemonstrateaworking knowledgeofaPC,andbeabletolearnandusenewsoftware.
  • Mustsuccessfullycompletethenecessarytrainingrequirementstoperformcashierdutieswithin90daysfrominitial employment.
