We are seeking an experienced SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) Lead. This is a Test Lead position in the New Business QA team. The qualified individual will drive the testing effort by working with project/delivery stakeholders and end-to-end testers. Will work with other test leads and COE team to optimize testing and improve software quality for the overall organization. In addition, the test lead will ensure standards and guidelines set forth by the COE are followed while aiding the Manager in establishing a baseline of QA team performance, monitoring overall delivery metrics and ensuring the function is continually improving year over year.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a small team of 2-3 onsite and/or offshore resources
  • Ensures that assigned testing team(s) work together effectively and that the testing function is properly integrated across technological areas supporting end-to-end testing
  • Tracks key testing metrics and ensures regular consistent communication of progress towards overall testing goals to project/business stakeholders
  • Apart from being the lead, he/she will also be hands on with functional/E2E testing using different types of technology and tools (ex: RESTful/SOAP web services, batch applications)
  • Participate in Daily Huddles, Planning sessions and Project Retrospectives for assigned initiatives
  • Designs test scenarios and scripts, executes test cases, compares results to functional and non-functional requirements
  • Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
  • Leads the testing efforts of medium to large sized efforts, including assigning tasks to personnel and reporting on progress to all key stakeholders
  • Can identify what can be leveraged from automation versus manual testing and continue to build automation coverage
  • Works across organization to share practices, techniques, and technical knowledge
  • Looks to challenge the status quo and implement improvements

Education/Training:

BS in Computer Science/Engineering preferred but not required if someone has adequate work experience and the skills for the role

Required Skills/Knowledge:
  • Possess extensive knowledge & experience in testing in Cloud, Distributed, Mainframe and highly integrated complex environments
  • Understands key business drivers; uses knowledge of best practices and the competition to improve processes and procedures
  • Good understanding with test tools such as Selenium/WebDriver, BDD/TDD frameworks
  • Experience in building/developing CI/CD pipeline
  • Experience developing test frameworks and test cases using open source & in-house test frameworks is preferred
  • Solves a broad range of problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions
  • Build, execute and analyze automation test suites and publish associated results/reports
  • Experience with test management tools like JIRA, PractiTest etc.,
  • Self-motivated and adaptable individual able to evaluate, maintain and prioritize multiple objectives simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Must be a team player with excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail, an analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude and strong organizational skills
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
