Globe Life is looking to hire a Data Analyst who will be a part of the Visual Analytics self-service enablement team. This is an ideal role for an analyst looking to get into Data Analytics, as it is an Enablement/ Support role. Primarily, this analyst will help others (data scientists and analysts) understand and find insights in the data. The ideal candidate will be someone that is curious about data and enjoys working with it.

Required Skills:
  • Mine the business's database in search of critical business insights, identify trends, identify outliers, find patterns and communicates his findings to the relevant stakeholders and audience.
  • Use data to guide assigned business departments through all programs and initiatives, enabling continuous improvement in data quality.
  • Analyze system queries and diagrams to understand data flow and ETL logic behind how data gets into the EDW and then to business teams.
  • Work within and across the business in order to understand the business's functional and data requirements.
  • Create and maintain a Business Data Dictionary and Data Profile
  • Clean and Standardize "dirty" data and prepare it to be used for Analytics.
  • Develops models and ad hoc reports, sharing observations and recommendations with senior data management, executives, and stakeholders for further consideration.
  • Enables individuals in a business with the skills they need to responsibly leverage trusted data to achieve real business outcomes.
  • Contributes to increase data literacy within the organization and create a data culture where individuals are curious about data and want to responsibly share information.
  • Drives the knowledge sharing and enable insights generation from data navigated through dashboards and visualizations.
  • Develops interactive and effective dashboards to convey data findings and insights.
Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics, Information Systems, Statistics, Applied Math, Business Administration, or any other related field. An equivalent of the same in working experience is also acceptable for this position.

Required Experience:
  • Mastery with dashboard development and data visualization using Tableau (Certification Preferred)
  • Experience in high-volume data businesses (preferably Internet, software or technology industries).
  • 5+ years of experience in developing and/or supporting the data management effort including business intelligence
  • 5+ years of experience in managing the data as a corporate asset thru the utilization of Enterprise Data Warehouse or Data Lake
  • 5+ years of experience in data validation or complex data intensive analysis that utilizes data modeling, manipulation and processing techniques (SQL, Informatica, AWS tools, Python etc.) to ensure (connected) datasets are of high quality and therefore fit for analysis/reporting purposes.
  • Must demonstrate a deep interest in research and data analysis, drawing actionable insights from raw data and information to help further the business's cause.
  • Must be skilled in statistical modeling, performing quantitative analysis, data quality, data documentation, data profiling, data mining and analysis techniques.
  • Must have exceptional attention to detail, have an ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines, have creative and innovative problem solving skills, and be self-motivated and proactive.
  • Must be proficient with SQL and able to write complex queries.
  • Good skills in programming languages Python and R.
  • Curious about data and business processes.
  • Ability to drive change and navigate ambiguity when building new capabilities in an enterprise setting.
  • Transparent - provides daily status and demos progress. Resourceful to get work done. Asks for Help, if needed.
  • Team Player - fits in/gets along with rest of the team
  • Strong level of communication skills; High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
