Vanguard plans to open a new office in the Dallas-Fort Worth region in early 2022. In alignment with Vanguard's dedication to making advice more accessible and affordable for investors, the new location will be dedicated to supporting all aspects of our growing advice businesses. This location will supplement Vanguard's hardworking roster of advisors and advice-focused crew and offer leadership and development opportunities that continue to enable crew to best support our clients. As one of the first IT crew to join the Dallas team, you'll have a unique opportunity to help lay the groundwork for this exciting expansion.

In This Role You Will

As a leader in Enterprise Advice, you'll help us build and evolve our advice capabilities and product line-up to serve the needs of individual investors and independent financial advisors. Tap into unmet investor needs and disrupt the traditionally high-cost advice marketplace by crafting modern, reusable advice engines we can scale globally. Enterprise Advice is crafting a platform of cloud-native products and APIs that are being proven to build advice offers across business lines. In this role, you will have the phenomenal opportunity to work on an emerging proof of concept for a key Portfolio Construction offering.

Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience
Five to Eight years of software development experience and 1+ years as a technical lead using Java technical stack building well-constructed services with high availability and resilience.
Experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST and Microservices
AWS Cloud Development (ECS, DynamoDB, EC2) and Cloud engineering standard methodologies is required.
Experience with AWS Monitoring tools (Cloudability or Cloud Health or similar) is highly desired.
Demonstrated experience in technical leadership and acting as a mentor and coach for developers on the team.
Strong analysis skills.
Experience or ability to quickly learn AWS (S3, DynamoDB, EMR, EC2, Storage Gateway, IAM, Streams)
Experience using CI/CD pipeline tools like Bamboo, Jenkins.
