Operates ultrasound equipment to produce basic diagnostic scans of high quality while ensuring optimal patient care.

Minimum Specifications

Education

Must have successfully completed an 18 month allied health education program in ultrasound.

Preference will be given to graduates of an ultrasound program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education

in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRCDMS).

Experience

N/A

Equivalent Education and/or Experience

Certification/Registration/Licensure

Must be registered as a Sonographer by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers RDMS (OB/GYN)

within one year of employment.

Must have current healthcare provider CPR course completion card from one of the following:

  • American Heart Association
  • American Red Cross Rescuer
  • Military Training Network.

Required Tests for Placement

Skills or Special Abilities

Must be able to operate various types of ultrasound equipment used in performing procedures.

Must be able to communicate effectively; written and verbally.

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of both normal and abnormal anatomy.

Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.

Must be able to utilize and navigate applicable computer systems in order to complete workflows.
