Westlake, TX (Hybrid- 3 days onsite)

Minimum Pay Rate -$60/hr

Must Have Skills:
  • Load Balancing
  • Firewall
  • F5 environment

Primary Responsibilities
  • Handle and Maintain highly sophisticated firewall and network environments
  • Support Internet/Extranet Engineering through use of Firewalls, IDS/IPS, various proxy gateway and other network security devices to provide defense-in-depth protection from cyber security threats
  • Support Routed/Routing Protocols: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF, VPNs
  • Network Change Implementation
  • Implement code upgrade/hot fix from vendor
  • Change verification/validation with customer
  • Assist in solving related to change
  • Solve all issues related to Internet/extranet network as well as internal network connectivity issues
  • Documentation of complex technologies and topologies
  • Vendor management for multiple platforms
  • Support the environment in an on-call rotation
  • Have the flexibility to work varying shifts

Skills and Knowledge
  • Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, including application knowledge
  • Global/Local load balancing knowledge in F5 environment
  • Extensive Routers and Switch experience, specific to HP, Cisco and Nexus hardware
  • Strong Unix/Linux skills
  • Network Security skills: Firewall, IPS/IDS, Webfiltering, etc.
  • In-Depth Network Engineering and Troubleshooting skills
  • In-Depth Routed/Routing Protocols: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF, VPNs
  • Application Traffic Analysis
  • Understanding Status codes: http 100, 400 etc…
  • Managed File Transfer, FTP, SFTP, etc…
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Proficient in Network Packet captures and analysis
  • Development/Automation/Scripting knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
