A desire to rise to the challenge and the ability to manage multiple components are musts. You might be a good fit for this Staff Accountant position if you can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. In this role, you will perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Dallas, Texas area, at a company where effort is rewarded. If you're a detail-oriented and analytical thinker with a talent for creating Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets, this may be the role for you.ResponsibilitiesSupport the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries Requirements - Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Proficient in ERP systems
Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to meet deadlines
