Primary Purpose

Supervises department and/or support staff to ensure effective and efficient operation of support functions. Performs supervision of area activities, assigns schedules, adjusts manpower, generates reports, and completes special projects as required in order to provide and maintain proper service levels. This position reports to a manager or above.

Minimum Specifications Education

- Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiography program and hold at least one Radiography registry.

- Must have an Associate Degree in Radiography.

  • Bachelors
  • Degree in Radiography preferred.

Experience

Must have four (4) years of progressive responsibility in Radiology, including knowledge of procedures and workflow in all areas of Diagnostic Radiology, staff scheduling experience, quality monitoring, and general operational troubleshooting.

Progressive responsibility in another modality will be considered.

Certification/Registration/LicensureMust have an American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or American Radiology Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification.

Must hold one or more of the following registries: R, N, MRI, M, VI, CT, BD, CNMT or RDMS.

If ARRT certified must hold a current license by the Texas Department of Health (TDH) as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.

Must have a current Healthcare Provider CPR course completion card or obtain certification during initial orientation at Parkland from one of the following:

  • American Heart Association
  • American Red Cross Rescuer
  • Military Training Network

Skills or Special Abilities

Must successfully understand Diagnostic Operations, demonstrated by understanding workflow, requirements, and staff scheduling.

Must have superior time management skills with demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects and assignments.

Must have excellent vocabulary skills and a demonstrated ability in English and grammar.

Must be able to compose correspondence independently.

Must be able to write effectively.

Must be able to demonstrate good phone techniques and manners.

Must be familiar with the assigned function's operations, policies and procedures.

Must be able to use sound judgment in making complex decisions.
