Licensed Vocational Nurse – Private Duty Nursing

Location: Haslet, TX 76052

Schedule: 63 hours per week

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide high-quality Private Duty Nursing (PDN) care to a medically fragile client in Haslet, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for delivering one-on-one care in the home setting.

Key Responsibilities

Tracheostomy Care & Management

Perform routine trach care, suctioning, and monitoring.

Ensure airway safety, monitor for respiratory distress, and maintain emergency equipment readiness.

Medication Administration

Accurately administer prescribed medications per physician’s orders.

Document all medication administration and observe for side effects or changes in condition.

Wound Care

Provide wound assessments, dressing changes, and infection-prevention measures.

Monitor healing progress and report any concerns to the supervising RN or physician.

Patient Monitoring & Assessments

Perform ongoing assessments of vital signs, respiratory status, and overall health.

Document all care provided and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records.

Care Coordination

Communicate changes in the patient’s condition to the care team, parents/guardians, and agency staff.

Follow the established Plan of Care and participate in updates as needed.

Family & Client Support

Educate and support the family on safe care techniques when appropriate.

Provide compassionate, patient-centered care at all times.

Requirements

Current Texas LVN license in good standing.

Current CPR (BLS) certification.

Experience with trach care, wound care, and medication administration required.

Prior PDN or home health experience preferred.

Ability to work a consistent 63-hour weekly schedule.

Reliable, professional, and able to work independently in a home environment.
