- Drive data storage infrastructure from “current state to future state” with a focus on data center modernization & continuous improvements
- Possess a strong ability to understand the customer infrastructure landscape, identify opportunities, and overcome any technical obstacles to meet or exceed customer needs.
- SME skills in accessing & designing Hybrid Cloud environment solutions for continuous service improvements would be preferred. The positions require the ability to design, develop & implement solutions to modernize the customer environment
- Own & perform server technical builds (“rack and stack”) ongoing support along with 3rd party vendor, and deployments in compliance with defined Procedures that are based on customer Policies
- Extensive hands-on experience in implementation, migration, consolidation & management for VMware Cloud Foundation suite – vSphere, HCX, vCenter, NSX/NSX-T, modernization of ESX servers (ESX 4.x/5.x and above), vSAN, vRNI etc.
- Must have experience with Hybrid Cloud data center management including Physical servers, Hyper-converged infrastructure, Public Cloud solutions on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform including VMware solutions on Public cloud across varied operating systems – Windows & Linux
- Experience in managing Unix operating systems – Solaris/iSeries
- Experience in managing Storage & backup technologies would be preferred – EMC VNX, NetApp, Rubrik, Backup Exce
- Experience in commissioning & decommissioning of physical/virtual servers in the customer environment
- Must have experience with Linux/iSeries/Windows/Solaris platforms & operating systems
- Build and maintain Hybrid cloud environment offerings that help the customer achieve transformational business outcomes.
- Develop technical artifacts, automation templates, and other customer facing tools that help accelerate adoption of Public Cloud services
- In depth knowledge of migration of performing physical to physical, physical to virtual, virtual to physical, virtual to virtual across technologies as well as physical to image and image to virtual using native tools and third party. In depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server architecture
- Troubleshoot complex problems in enterprise IT Infrastructure/Private Cloud built on HCI technologies and resolve as per the SLA's.
- Must have experience in long terms retention data backup strategies to Cloud – AWS Glacier, Azure Archive, Snowball etc.
- Log analysis and correlation of Monthly reports
- DR testing and taking ownership during such DR cycles.
- Monitoring and optimization of the performance, tuning, capacity planning, proactive monitoring, and automation of storage & backup systems for smooth operations
- Ability to work independently as well as ability to collaborate across teams in support of complex global engagements. Ability to collaborate with peers and across teams
- Act as liaison with other IT support team members to resolve issues in a timely manner and ensure proper documentation, notification, escalation tracking and follow-ups of all incidents and requests
- Ensure to create and maintain Standard Operating Environment (SOE) image with up-to-date patches
- Proactively monitor the performance of compute instances and identify RCA and make approve changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of applications
- VTCA & VCP certification would be preferred
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in equivalent industry experience
- Extensive experience in Data Center management and IT transformation project (assessments, migrations, consolidations, virtualization projects, etc.)
- A holistic understanding of IT infrastructure inclusive of server, storage, network, database, systems, DR/business recovery and continuity practices, etc.
- Manage & maintain heterogenous Hybrid Cloud environment with focus on VMware technologies & act as a SPOC for all L2/L3 support during issue resolutions
- A foundational understanding of public cloud models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and providers (AWS, Azure, Google)
- Familiar with application and workload dependencies, architecture, and service level requirements
- Experience with using IT service management tools (e.g.; ServiceNow)
- Excellent communication, organization and writing skills are required
