Responsibilities

Enterprice Technology P&C Auto/Fire team is looking for a Mainframe Developer. As a member of a small, self-guided, product-oriented team you will design, develop and implement new functionality and troubleshoot application issues in order to provide solutions. This positions allows you the flexibility to determine what to work on as well as the chance to work with an established team that is willing to help you learn. You will work across other Auto product teams to gain a broad knowledge of our Auto Policy Administration Systems and build a network of connections within Enterprise Technology. You will have the opportunity to work on new and existing technologies all while having the satisfaction of knowing that your work has helped others.

As a developer on the AMP'd Up Auto Tools Team, you will have the opportunity to virtually collaborate each day with your team which is made up of highly skilled and experienced web and mainframe developers located both at the Bloomington Hub and at our offshore locations. You may work autonomously on work you have selected from the backlog or you may join a mobbing sessions with other members of the team to solve a difficult issue. Every day will include an opportunity to learn something new and sharpen your skills across various platforms and languages.

Required Skills:
  • 2yrs + of professional experience in the Mainframe development space.
  • Working on an agile development team.
  • Working with revision management systems
  • Troubleshooting and development with relational databases including DB2 and SQL.

Preferred Skills:
  • Strong mainframe development skills which may include PL/1, COBOL, IMS and REXX
  • Agile methodologies
  • Experience with GITLAB
  • Development or support of a continuous delivery pipeline written in Jenkins
  • Previous experience working with State Farm's legacy auto policy administration system.

Office Location: Corporate HQ in Bloomington, IL, OR State Farm Hubs: Richardson, TX; Dunwoody, GA; Phoenix AZ.
