  • Drive data storage infrastructure from "current state to future state" with a focus on database modernization & continuous improvements
  • Possess a strong ability to understand the customer infrastructure landscape, identify opportunities, and overcome any technical obstacles to meet or exceed customer needs
  • Experience in large scale implementation & migration of multiple database instances MS SQL & MySQL databases
  • Plans database upgrades by maintaining, evaluating, and improving a transaction processing model
  • Assesses database performance by developing a protocol for measurement of results and identification of problem areas.
  • Supports database performance by monitoring database performance; evaluating and resolving processing and programming problems; designing database management tools; answering user questions.
  • Secures database by preparing access and control policies and procedures, implementing disaster recovery procedures
  • Experience with database & application performance tuning
  • Supports application design by contributing expertise to applications, operations, and technical support teams
  • Manage medium projects & change requests, using basic project management techniques. Documents and manages project scope. Documents project plan in terms of work breakdown structure, effort, and schedule. Creates maintains and executes project plans. Works with the business team to resolve project issues. Assesses and mitigates project risk.
  • Experience with database security best practices across various database platforms & operating systems including configuring & managing database profiles
  • Ability to resolve locking conflicts, latch contention, rollback requirements, problematic SQL, processes, etc., for all database instances in coordination with Application and Third-Party Providers
  • Experience in Importing and installing new versions or updates of database data, and code components, to recommended settings supplied by the Application Provider and allow for rollback of data and Changes if necessary
  • Experience with database patching & vulnerability troubleshooting & management
  • Support MSSQL/MySQL database replication and clustering
  • Monitor production databases, performance tuning and backup/recovery process
  • Troubleshoot database issues; maintain database systems availability
  • Develop database tools to automate existing database tasks
  • Create/maintain database related documentation
  • Follow change management process for all production changes
  • Must have experience with Linux/iSeries/Windows/Solaris platforms & operating systems
Must Have's:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in equivalent industry experience
  • Hands on experience with implementation, migration, modernization & administration of MS SQL & MySQL
  • Basic network and operating system debugging
  • Strong Experience in high availability & maintaining business resiliency
  • Experience in SQL Server Replication and Always-On cluster environments
  • Experience in virtualization environments
  • Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, IO, disk space and other resource bottlenecks
  • Strong knowledge of MS SQL / MySQL Server backup/restore recovery models
  • Experience in SQL Server user management
  • Experience in implementing operational automation
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Documentation skills for processes and procedures
  • Experience Microsoft Windows Server administration
  • Preferred experience in designing, implementation & migration of databases to public cloud (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure)
  • Experience in database development
  • Familiar with application and workload dependencies, architecture, and service level requirements
  • Experience with using IT service management tools (e.g.; ServiceNow)
  • Excellent communication, organization and writing skills are required
