Petrochemical Lab Technician – East Houston, TXKelly Scientific is currently seeking Petrochemical Lab Technician candidates to work on the night shift at a petrochemical testing laboratory in east Houston, TX. As a Petrochemical Lab Technician you will be responsible for assisting and performing a wide range of chemical and physical analyses on petroleum fuels and chemicals.Additional Job Responsibilities:
Perform all required testing on petroleum fuels, gasoline, and chemical samples
Assist in the setting up of laboratory equipment and / or instrumentation required for the analysis of samples
Assist in calibrating laboratory instruments in accordance with applicable standards
Perform standardization of all solutions
Understand and be able to complete laboratory raw data sheets and make accurate entries into laboratory computer programs
General upkeep and housekeeping of the Laboratory
Job Requirements:
BS in Chemistry or other related technical discipline is desired
2+ years of experience as a Lab Technician in the chemical industry is preferred
Must be willing to work a rotating 12 hour night shift schedule, 6:00pm-6:00am
Must be able to work with all chemicals, petrochemicals, and petroleum products
Position requires a dependable and reliable individual whose daily presence adds to the success of the Department
Ability to work with minimal or no supervision coupled with excellent organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and other applications
This is a temp to hire opportunity with a rotating night shift work schedule, 6:00pm-6:00am. The pay range for the position is $21-23 per hour.
