DescriptionThis is a hands-on management role that will involve the standardization and centralization of new and existing policies, processes and procedures; whilst ensuring that these initiatives are aligned to meet business goals and objectives.Main accountabilities include:

A key early accountability is to undertake a comprehensive review of the operational training structures, policies and processes across the region, propose a revised optimum structure/process/documentation that meets business needs (both now and with flexibility to adapt as the business grows). Once agreed, deliver this with support from the wider team

Devise and deliver a comprehensive operational training strategy for the region, in consultation with key stakeholders such as HR, Operations, Finance and Risk

Ensure full compliance with the Menzies Aviation learning development policy, including Appendix 1 (as amended from time to time), local legislation and customer training requirements. Where required, ensure all gap analysis against carrier training is completed and recorded to the Menzies standard

Ensure that all trainers deliver the required operational training to the required standard in line with the Menzies Aviation Learning and development policy (as amended from time to time) and local legislation, ensuring that associated training records are kept up to date

Develop, manage and maintain the appropriate Learning Management Systems and associated administrative activities. Ensure content and data is accurate and relevant to the requirements of the region

Working with the operational teams and Resourcing & Talent teams, support the operation with development and management of station training plans (including new employees and refresher training requirements), maximise on efficiencies, budget considerations and ensure compliance to the Learning Development Policy

Maintain accurate and current operational training data, producing reports and analysing trends/statistics as required by the business

Ensure the Training teams across the region are qualified and compliant in the training they are delivering, including any regulatory and airline/other customer requirements

In conjunction with in-country HR, Operations, Safety & Security teams , assess and arrange relevant operational training needs for all employees, including appropriate assessment and measurement methods

Stay informed as to the relevant skills and qualification levels required by employees for effective operational performance, and circulate requirements/relevant information to stakeholders as appropriate

Ensure training managers and leaders are communicating weekly key performance indicator dashboards to their leadership teams to enable effective oversight and engagement in the training needs of their stations

Working with the operational teams, ensure all stations have compliant training facilities

Ensure all training activities and materials meet with relevant organisational and statutory policies, including health & safety, employment and equality laws

Build and maintain both internal and external relationships with key stakeholders, regulators and customers to ensure training processes and content are current and inline with requirements

Maintain control and optimum utilisation of operational training resources within the region, including reviewing their performance against objectives (in conjunction with direct line managers where there is dotted line reporting)

Update and maintain all training manuals and ensure compliance to Menzies standards and training updates

Experience:

Training and Development management experience within aviation, cargo or ground handling

Demonstrable experience leading and managing high performance teams

Knowledge and familiarity of Safety, Operational, Compliance protocols

Commercially astute and business focused, with an ability to grasp operational training risks and issues and translate this into appropriate outputs

Actively influences events to achieve goals, self-starting rather than accepting passively

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with an ability to engage with and influence key stakeholders at all levels across the organisation

Collaborative team player with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, acting in line with the Company’s culture and values

IT literate with savviness for systems capability

Commits to an action after developing alternative courses of action that are based on logical assumptions and factual information that take into consideration resources, constraints and organisational values

Ability to read, write and speak fluent English

Ability and willingness to travel frequently
