Job Description:
Alarm and CCTV system technician
Experience:
2+ years of experience in a commercial environment
Requires a valid drivers license with no DWI in past 5 years
Duties include:
Installation of alarm systems, CCTV and access control equipment routers and switches
Accessing installation site and preparation of installation diagram
Pulling and routing CAT 5, CAT 6, coax, 22 gauge twisted pair cable in existing and new commercial or residential environments
Terminating phone jacks, RJ45 and RF connectors
Occasional running or bending of conduit
Knowledgeable in use of digital multi-meters for testing circuits
Install low voltage wiring including fishing the wire through sheetrock walls, suspended ceilings and sheetrock ceilings
Knowledge of drills, hand tools, hammer drill, fish tape, fish rods, measuring tape
Troubleshooting network connectivity, power surges and low voltage power circuits
Update job knowledge by reading technical publications, watching Youtube training and participating in education opportunities
Physical Abilities:
The position requires the ability to work indoors and outdoors at field sites. Requires the ability to climb ladders up to 14 feet, stairs, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds. Requires hand-arm extension and ability to reach, bend, squat, kneel and finger dexterity to terminate connections.
