Job Description

Primary Duties

:

  • Lead Maintenance department staff in ensuring operational downtime is minimized and all appropriate and required repairs to equipment are made in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Maintain all building facilities maintenance requirements.
  • Plan all TPM procedures, identify timing requirements and schedule necessary repair components.
  • Design/modify processes and equipment to realize productivity improvement, maintain quality standards, and facilitate scrap reduction in a cost effective manner and within budget.
  • Lead/Motivate facility in all EH&S activities through work environment improvements
  • Assess safety requirements and ensure that these are integrated into the process.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Shipping to ensure achievement of common goals and projects.
  • Integrate new technology and environmentally friendly practices into existing processes.
  • Develop short and long term plan for process, equipment and methods through capital budget expenditures.
  • Lead Plant environmental process and maintain all associated legal requirements.
  • Execute AMI’s objectives, meet commitments, and work within the approved guidelines.
  • Perform as a Staff Level Manager and team member to drive/execute improvement throughout the entire facility

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) background
  • Understanding of the required outcomes of the Extrusion/Compounding Process.
  • Solid foundation in manufacturing equipment and process concepts.
  • Knowledge of the product or services in the extrusion industry.
  • Familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Arc Flash, Electrical safety and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)/ (TCEQ) principles.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills, as well as a keen attention to detail are also essential.
  • Project management, leadership and team work skills are important to ensure that all factors come together to complete a given assignment on time.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with co-workers across all levels.
  • Solid understanding of basic Quality standards and processes, to support establishment of Standard Work procedures.
  • Team Building Skills.

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related science field is preferred, preferably mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Strong Maintenance/EHS background in industrial equipment and processes is highly desired.
  • Ability to direct, and support skilled maintenance team required.
  • Experience with vinyl extrusion a plus

Qualifications Required:

  • Three (3+) plus years related experience especially in extrusion and/or plastics industry or other manufacturing
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge and implementation experience
  • Solid experience and knowledge with regard to Maintenance/EHS requirements in a manufacturing facility
  • Sense of urgency and self-motivation; ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprint and engineering documents
  • Computer literacy with ability to learn new computer software programs
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to discuss operational requirements with all levels of personnel
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Team Building Skills
