Overview

JUNIOR INSTALLER:

Bowhead is seeking Junior Installers to join our team based out of Fort Hood, TX. The Junior Installers are responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mission command, communications and electronics equipment or other components required for the task(s). This equipment may include communication devices for Humvee's and other heavy tactical operating equipment used overseas and CONUS. The Junior Installers are physically responsible for the work of mounting the various equipment and therefore must be mechanically inclined, unafraid to get their hands dirty and have an interest in supporting the mission.

Responsibilities

  • Performing the fielding, installing, operating, testing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, exercise and test support and maintenance on various equipment both in the field and in maintenance settings.
  • Installing, testing and preventative maintenance measures will include using hand and power tools to physically mount this equipment to various surfaces per mission requirements.
  • Planning and performing the installation, testing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work for communications and electronics equipment using hand and power tools and working with various surfaces and vehicles as required per mission.
  • Assisting in maintaining and accurately reporting Class IX inventories and Installation Kit (IK) by working closely with the customer's Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) Lead.
  • The capability to distinguish between hardware and software problems in multi-vendor systems related to communications and electronic equipment.
  • Must have hands-on or educational experience mounting electronic and communication systems, fielding major systems, encryption devices and other systems as assigned.
  • Experience, educational or hands-on, in one of the following core technical areas is ideal but not required for Installers: electronics, network support (software or hardware), computers (software or hardware), fielding major systems, satellite networks, data encryptions, web-based apps, encryption devices, COMSEC, Fires, Command Posts, or Platforms.
  • May be required to perform extended TDY CONUS and OCONUS as well as operations in contingency environments for 50% to 75% of time in support of Mission Command.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (or GED Equivalent) is required at a minimum in addition to at least one (1+) year similar experience.
  • Requires Active DoD Secret security clearance, US Citizenship, valid State Issued US Driver's License and a valid US Passport or the ability to obtain a Passport within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Candidates must be worldwide deployable and available for extensive travel and TDY assignments.
  • Prior US Military experience preferred.
  • Basic level skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to maintain, a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
