Participates in the development, implementation and coordination of activities designed to ensure, protect and restore IT systems, services, and capabilities. Monitors and evaluates system security compliance. Assists in the application of system security and accreditation processes for organizational Information Technology systems. Develops security procedures. Prepares and presents reports and briefings. Represents the organization in interactions with other organizations. Provides technical leadership on group projects. Evaluates and recommends adoption of new or enhanced approaches to system security. Applies information security and information assurance policy, principles, and practices.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentQualificationsQUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. Must include at least one year of experience performing duties at a level which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform successfully in the position. Possess a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D orequivalent doctoral degree in the following areas - computer science, information science, information systems management, ortechnology management or related field that included at least 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above. The education must have included coursework in information systems security, networking, and/or systems analysis. The following demonstrated experience can be substituted for education as follows:Possess progressive It experience in applying methods for evaluating, implementing, and disseminating IT security tools and procedures.Possess demonstrated professional experience maintaining and implementing IT security certification and accreditation requirements.Possess demonstrated knowledge in network operations and protocols, and computer forensics principles.Possess demonstrated professional experience maintaining system logs and running network and system level scans.Possess demonstrated professional experience providing effective customer service in a collaborative environment with all IT related disciplines.Possess demonstrated professional experience conducting training, delivering briefs/presentations and providing reports to superiors.Possess demonstrated professional experience monitoring and detecting intrusion in both systems and network infrastructure.Possess demonstrated professional experience with common network monitoring techniques and review logs to discover anomalies.EducationIf you would like for your education to be considered by the hiring panel as part of your overall accomplishments, you must attach copies of transcripts (online transcripts will be accepted).
