As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. Based in the Fort Worth, Texas area, this opening for a Controller is a permanent position.Major responsibilitiesComfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed

Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month

Requirements

Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

Ability to meet deadlines

Expertise in Sage 100

Practical knowledge of Profit Sharing Plan

Well-founded grasp of Corporate Income Tax

General ledger experience preferred

Proven knowledge of Treasury Management

Financial Audits experience

Strong familiarity with Sage 300

General familiarity with Property Tax

Financial statement preparation experience

Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills

10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

Excellent attention to detail
