The level and degree of job responsibilities and requirements vary depending on months of experience and assigned job step.Experience LevelEntryPrimary Responsibilities and Duties Perform manual labor related to surveying needs, such as cutting brush for lines, carrying stakes, and/or pins and right of way markers delineate features of all phase’s construction project. Assist and learn the task of establishing elevations and or grades as required Install or mark neatly elevations as instructed by the Surveying Journeyman Assist and learn to measure distances manually with survey chains using a plumb bob and maintain survey chains to insure accuracy and consistency Learn to set up items associated with electronic measuring and sighting and perform these actions as needed Operates and maintains survey tools and instrumentsQualifications Must possess knowledge skills and abilities for position Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision Field experience in chosen craft discipline Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools.Requirements The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site,so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoorweather conditions Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to accessrequired equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb andmaintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds acrossconstruction/industrial site Must have required tools Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, fit for duty medical and backgroundcheckWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
