Batch Reactor OperatorOperators are required, once trained, to run a 2L batch reactor under specified sets of conditions to evaluate the performance of new catalysts, as well as the potential to do polymer characterization or other chemistries in the future.Some of the daily task include, but are not limited to packaging and disposing of waste per RCRA regulations , preparing polymer samples, preparing catalyst samples, documenting experiments, basic lab analysis such as gravimetric analysis and titrations, communicating with scientists and peers and general housekeeping task.The job role requires a strong troubleshooting ability, the ability to make decisions quickly, a flexible work schedule to complete a set of given experiments, keeping up with appropriate documentation of experiments, attention to detail to understand the process, and participating in safety related programs such as safety checks and proper PPE.Due to the overwhelming demand of runs, this position was just created and will work either 12 hour day or night shifts, 4 days a week on a 24/4 schedule.Some general maintenance of the reactor may be required.There is potential for overtime in the role.The successful candidate must possess:The ability to learn quickly and follow detailed directionsUtmost respect for safety culture and safe work ethicStrong observation skills to make keen observations during experimentsThe ability to work independently and multitask effectivelyAdditionally, the job role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience of lab design and maintenance such as: Small scale stainless steel tube bending and designSmall scale valve and fitting design and installation for small projectsSmall scale pump maintenance and rebuildingMagdrive stirrer maintenance and rebuildingSkid design and construction using unistrutPipe and Flange design and constructionKelly Services is committed to employee inclusion through our dedication to foster an innovative workforce by recognizing, celebrating, and embracing the diversity that all Kelly employees bring to our organization and our customers.Why Kelly ® ?Kelly puts you in charge of your career, with access to cutting edge projects and technologies in industry leading organizations.
