This role provides cost management and scheduling on Intermediate size projects following the Global Project Methodology (GPM) work process. This role will also support site Turnaround cost management within the Global Turnaround Work Process.Supports establishment of the overall cost baseline and schedule baseline with reporting to monitor and control the project within established tolerances of the baseline supporting cost and schedule effective project execution. Coordinates data inputs from the various disciplines and functions to ensure accurate forecasts and reporting of cost. Engages the project and/or turnaround steering team to understand causes of the deviation and the need to establish actions to mitigate, where deviations from established tolerances occur. Requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and broadens capabilities.Responsibilities / DutiesProject Cost Management:

Integrates the project cost estimate, workhour estimate, and project schedule into the Cost Management baseline.

Establishes cost baseline from which deviations will be managed during project execution.

Establishes work breakdown structure based upon work process norms and execution strategy.

Develops and maintains cost reports, cash flow/cancellation curves, and contingency analyses. Ensures accurate representation of cost data and cost forecast in monthly reporting.

Provides estimate of cancellation costs.

Estimates costs of deviations and assesses impact on total project cost.

Ensures accurate reflection of committed/spent funds, project deviation notices, field change orders, and project execution changes in all cost documents.

Leads the project team in deriving an accurate and realistic forecast of all funds required to complete the project within the defined budget and schedule while incorporating own trending and analyses.

Alerts the project team to critical Cost Management issues.

Provides supporting data for project execution metrics, external benchmarking and project closure.

Develops & maintains accurate TIC (total installed cost) cost reports for a portfolio of intermediate ($30OM-$10MM) projects across multiple sites using EcoSys software

Uses project knowledge from various sources (estimate, schedule, SAP, EVM, project team, contractors, etc.) to develop a forecast & cash flow; reviews with the project team monthly

Advocates & facilitates the change management process; ensures the cost impact of all changes are accurately reflected in the forecast & cash flow

Works with cost accountant to ensure all forecasting & accruals are submitted in accordance with company policy

Updates cost data in project database monthly

Turnaround Cost Management:

Works closely with the team to build estimates for planned scope of work

Tracks costs against established plan on assigned accounts

Utilizes all tools available, including vendor reporting, to provide leadership with accurate forecasts; accurately incorporates cost associated with add-on work into the overall forecast

Works with cost accountant to ensure all forecasting & accruals are submitted in accordance with company policy

Project Scheduler:

Develops & maintains project schedules in Primavera for estimated scope of work; regularly reports full schedule, critical path, variance analysis, and two week look-ahead to project team

Actively solicits input from project team to update schedule progress

Drives productivity through the use of earned value management during design

Advocates & facilitates the change management process; ensures all changes are accurately reflected in the project schedule

Integrates construction progress into the master schedule using information provided by construction schedulers or contractors

Updates project status & schedule information in project database monthly

Discipline Support:

Ensures regional & global work processes are followed for cost, schedule & estimating

Supports efforts to reach workshare goals

Understands & supports the use of metrics to drive successful project execution

Leads or contributes to continuous improvement initiatives

Leads or contributes to sessions intended to coach or teach on topics related to cost, schedule or estimating

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree plus cost management, project controls or other related experience preferred. In lieu of degree, equivalent years of experience required.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in Project and/or Turnaround Controls

A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications:

Petrochemical industry experience

Experience managing a portfolio of small or intermediate projects is strongly preferred over large projects or mega projects

Experience in an owner role (direct or contingent)

Experience using EcoSys

Experience using SAP
