This position is for SOR US Team in Verizon: :
- Should have hands-on experience in mainframe technologies
- Should have sound knowledge in the following mainframe skills: COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS, VSAM, SORT utilities, Sync Sort, File-AID, SPUFI, ISPF , CFI (File transfer) and SCM tools like Endevor.
- Should have hands-on Exp on familiarity with table unloads, table load, data masking
- Should have exp in schedule jobs, create alerting mechanisms etc.
- Must have exp in support releases with code deployments, log monitoring, health checks
- Good to have REXX, CLIST, ISPF dialog development experience.
- Should be flexible to support additional tasks of Release Management, Defect prevention activities, Code reviews etc
- Should be able to handle the stake holders independently.
- Good to have Prior experience on mainframe Support projects
- Ability to collaborate and communicate well across the team/organization.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and identify ambiguity and drive for clarity Capable of handling multiple tasks concurrently.
- Good to have Telecom Domain experience
- Should be flexible to work in 247 Shift
- Should have hands-on experience in mainframe Operations projects.
- Should have sound knowledge in the following mainframe skills: COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS, VSAM, SORT utilities, Sync Sort, File-AID, SPUFI, ISPF , CFI (File transfer) and SCM tools like Endevor.
- Ability to support the applications 24x7 job monitoring and troubleshooting
- Handle production operating system resource availability, reboot devices
- Should have exp in job monitoring and troubleshooting, productions abends and resolve the issues
- Perform root cause analysis, resolution and / or critical issue for production systems.
- Work closely with Console Operations, Scheduling, Infrastructure team and development teams to support the code deployments, cycle runs
- Monitoring various queues like Rdy, Act, Skel, ABEND and Late queue.
- Monitor scheduled batch jobs and batch cycles, resolving any non-application scheduling conflicts.
- Monitoring for SLA checklist and make sure of the SLA jobs completion within the given SLA time
- Performing Adhoc requests like Demanding, Canceling, Holding and JCL Override (proc override, parm override, executing the job from a different library).
- Alerts monitoring and Ticket Raising for outstanding messages and recycling various CICS/IMS/DB2 regions as per request by support team with approvals .
- Execute recovery procedures for production operating systems, devices and reply to control commands
- Ability to collaborate and communicate well across the team/organization.
- Monitor and execute production subsystem (e.g. IMS, CICS, DB2, IDMS) started tasks restarts
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and identify ambiguity and drive for clarity Capable of handling multiple tasks concurrently.
- Good to have Telecom Domain experience
- Should be flexible to work in 247 Shift
- Strong practical experience with CICS, MQ in Production Environment.
- Should have sound knowledge in the following mainframe skills: COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS, VSAM , CICS , MQ
- Cluster MQ creation and issues resolving
- CICS Administrator Good understanding of system z architecture and CICS transaction servers. Experience in resource definition online and batch.
- Experience with CICSplex environment.
- Performance monitoring and tuning.
- Experience in monitoring tools such as BMC Mainview for CICS.
- Setting up Webservice in CICS.
- Troubleshooting and resolving system related abends and issue.
- Experience in Service Now for ticket handling.
- Proficient with associated product installations, applying maintenance, customizing products, configuring products
- Proven independent and direct capability at building, configuring, and upgrading CICS Transaction Server regions in a production environment.
- Creation/deletion/recycle of Queue Manager through control command on Windows/Linux environment.
- Knowledge on Mainframe OS is must and know complete end to end installation
- Monitor CICS performance using Omegamon and TMON in response to client calls about transaction response time, storage & CPU usage, file i/o counts, wait reasons, etc.
- Perform upgrade activities required when moving CICS, CPSM or CTG to newer versions or releases
- Read and interpret CICS system dumps
- Install, customize, maintain 3rd party products such as Compuware's Abed-Aid/CICS, Xpeditor, CAFC, MacKinney Batch to CICS, etc.
- Knowledge on Mainframe setting the buffer pools and log file size increasing
- Participate in annual Disaster Recovery exercise activities: attending meetings, making CICS resource definition changes, monitoring network swing traffic, etc
- Experience about MQ files system and Error logs/FDC files on Windows and Linux.
- Research and apply fixes to CICS
- Working with Channels:-resolving channel, checking channel status, restarting channel, client connection and server connection channel etc.
- Experience about MQ reason codes.
- Backup and Recovery of the MQ objects/messages
- MQ Contingency practices
- Experience about persistent and non-persistent messages.
- Experience on creating Circular and linear logging.
- Experience about qm.ini and mqs.ini files.
- Experience on MQMD headers.
- Proven problem determination skills demonstrating independence and experience in troubleshooting, researching, and resolving complex issues, showing strong ability to utilize system diagnostics to arrive at problem solutions
- Should be flexible to work in 247 Shift
- Should provide on call support
