What does a great Sr. Software Developer do? In this role, you'll use your extensive knowledge of programming and development to support a team of implementation specialists and our greater network of clients. You'll gain a wide variety of experiences in both programming and support for our financial systems. You will be a member of a team of programmer analysts (onshore & offshore) working creating new features to Deposit Liquidity products like Deposit Line, SmarterPay or Risk Hub. You will design, develop, unit test the application code. The Sr. Software Developer must be capable of producing high quality code, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role liaises with project managers, lead developers, business analysts, and may also include some client interaction.

  • Develop features across multiple modules within our application, including collaboration in requirements definition, prototyping, design, coding, testing and deployment
  • Collaborate within a team environment in the development, testing and support of software development project lifecycles.
  • Analyze and amend production software errors in a timely and accurate fashion, and provides status reports where required
  • Write automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) to make sure features are robust and maintainable.
  • Provide engineering support (when necessary) to the implementation team when they are deploying, configuring and supporting systems for customers
  • Provide transparency into technical user stories and justify the value for these user stories
  • Work with project team on functional and technical components of the implementation project including product configuration, interfaces, installation and testing.
  • Collaborate with Testers to build applications that can be tested in an automated manner
  • Engage with Product Management and other function customers to understand and address their needs
  • Development efforts will also include feature enhancements, client implementations, and bug fixes as well as support of the production environment.
  • Assist QA team to explain functional requirements and review test cases.
  • Create reusable components, integrate them with the backend services and perform integration testing.
  • Participate in code reviews and code remediation.
  • Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions to the problems.
  • Perform additional duties as determined by business needs and as directed by management.
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Jasmine, Cucumber, and Fluentlenium, or equivalents
Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent education in a related discipline is desired; equivalent, relevant work experience may be substituted for degree
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of meaningful programming knowledge/skills or experience in Advanced Web technologies.
  • Minimum 6 years high quality software development skills principally in Java and Java frameworks like JDBC, ExtJs, JPA, Hibernate, Spring framework, jQuery
  • Experience in financial services/banking environment
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience in building enterprise software.
  • Programming Experience with modern UI technologies, Angular 9 and higher, Type Script, HTML, XML, JavaScript, Spring Boot + Cloud, Java, JPA, REST services and Hibernate.
  • Experience with Pivotal, Azure, Kotlin, Gitlab, Junit (Kotlin) + Hamcrest, IntelliJ, Team City is must.
  • 4+ years of experience with database (DB2 or SQL Server or MySQL) is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of analytical concepts, decision Trees, neural nets, pipelines, etc. a plus
  • Financial industry experience a plus
  • Team player and great collaborator, also self-motivated and able to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Maven, Gradle build tools and processes
  • Experience with Jenkins to manage project integrations and deployments
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum software development methodology
