The CEnS organization is looking for people with a passion for delivering customer success to help us build a future where customers come to us, not only because we provide industry-leading products and services, and also because we provide a differentiated and connected customer experience that is rooted in our commitment to delivering on customer outcomes.ResponsibilitiesThe Cloud Solution Architect Azure-IoT (CSA-IOT) is an accomplished pre-sales leader skilled at communicating and demonstrating the value of IoT solutions and solution architectures to our customers and partner. In this role you will be the technical lead working with Microsoft’s most important customers. You will work closely with customers to learn about their challenges and desired outcomes and through those conversations also discover their unarticulated needs. You will be accountable for leading and collaborating with members of the deal team to craft and deliver the Microsoft IoT Cloud and Edge solution vision that will drive value for our customers.Key areas of responsibility:Understand the Customer/Partner Technical Environment :

Gather customer/partner insights, and map IoT Cloud and Edge architectures and digital transformation solutions to customer/partner business outcomes.

Act as the voice of the customer/partner by driving new feedback, blockers, insights, resources, etc.

Design & Deploy Architectures :

Leverage and champion existing IoT Cloud and Edge architecture approaches to achieve Microsoft's agreed commitments to the customer/partner.

Receive and synthesize data about customer/partner business and technical requirements, to address them with technical IoT Cloud and Edge architecture(s), and demonstrate and prove IoT Cloud and Edge capability and value.

Apply broad technical knowledge across various IoT Cloud and Edge architecture solutions to meet business and IT requirements and resolve identified technical constraints.

Lead customer/partner projects that implement technical IoT Cloud and Edge architecture(s).

Identify, escalate, and work to resolve technical blockers to accelerate IoT Cloud and Edge architecture implementations and route non-technical issues for removal by the appropriate party. Code with customer to resolve blockers and accelerate consumption.

Adapt methodology and apply governance to identify, communicate, and minimize business and technical risks.

Drive Practice Development :

Generate new ideas for changes and improvements to existing IoT Cloud and Edge intellectual property (IP), technologies, and processes for designated customers/partners. drives opportunities for IP re-use, best practice sharing, and consumption.

Be a Trusted Advisor :

Develop and expand existing impactful relationships with customer and partner architects and technical specialists, technical decision-makers (TDMs), and business stakeholders.

Respectfully challenge customers/partners when going in the wrong direction and escalate appropriately.

Understand the competitor's architecture solutions and identify Microsoft's strengths over competitive solutions to drive conversations with customers/partners.

Be a Thought Leader :

Share ideas, insight, and strategic, technical input with technical teams, internal communities across the field, and the larger virtual team across Microsoft.

Participate in external architect community events and share learnings with the internal team. Act a mentor to junior colleagues.

Drive Customer Usage :

Lead IoT Cloud and Edge architecture design, resiliency reviews, and technical optimization that result in production deployment and drive customer usage/Azure Consumed Revenue (ACR).

QualificationsRequired/Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or cloud/infrastructure technologies

OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or cloud/infrastructure technologies

OR equivalent experience.

2+ years' experience with IoT in cloud computing

Additional or Preferred Qualifications5+ years of sales technical sales experience with a track record in high tech industry

3+ years of experience in enterprise and solution based consulting or technical sales

Undergraduate degree preferred, in Computer Science, Electric Engineering or a related technical field, or relevant work experience

Self-starter

Experience engaging C- and senior-level technical stakeholders

Strong planning and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously

Experience in project management, feature definition and design and feasibility assessment.

Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, planning and drive for results competencies

Passionate about customers to build creative and innovative solutions.

Presentation skill to explain and educate others both internal and external, at all level of an organization.

Industry experience and deep IoT / M2M market knowledge in specific vertical industries such as Industrial Automation and Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Energy.

Experience in IoT market in a technical or technical sales capacity is a great advantage, including an understanding of partner ecosystems and the ability to leverage partner solutions to solve customer and partner needs.

Strong technical and pre-sales expertise, covering some of these areas:Developer experience in C, Java, Node.js/JavaScript, Python or C#.

Data and analytics experience - SAWL, R, Python - Machine Learning skills include R and/or Python.

Web design / Power Apps / Enterprise systems for IoT data visualization.

Azure or other Cloud Platform technical competency (infrastructure components, security, data, and analytics).

Experience on Windows and/or other O/S platforms (Linux, Android, etc.)

Ability to travel (30%)

Technical Solution LeaderIoT technologist. Deep experience with, and ability to explain key benefits, trade-offs, and architectures relating to IoT Solutions required

Technical breadth. Experience with Azure cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, and technology management preferred

Technical depth. Technical experience with design, configuration and implementation of IoT solutions in azure cloud as well as competitive platform knowledge

Collaborative. Able to work cohesively with customers, members of the Microsoft (or similar) sales, services, and marketing organizations and Microsoft (or similar) partners required.

Excellent Communicator. Communication and collaboration, organizational, presentation, deep technical product demo, writing, and verbal communication skills required.

Executive Presence. Validated experience engaging with senior level executives preferred.

Consultative Technical Selling and Challenger mindset. Validated experience in consultative technical selling approach, including bringing innovative ideas to customer problems and being customer focused preferred.

Performer. Highly driven passionate person who consistently exceeds goals and expectations required.

Growth Mindset. Experience and passion for learning (technical and professional skills); implementing practices from others; trying, failing and learning from the experience; sharing practices and knowledge for others’ benefit required.

The salary for this role in the state of Colorado is between $113,900 and $171,500.At Microsoft, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance.
