We are looking for RNs to work in one of our Labor and Delivery (L&D) units. The Registered Nurse (RN) exhibits and executes Baylor Scott & White Health's (BSWH) Values & Behaviors in delivering and coordinating patient care. Utilizing the BSWH nursing professional practice model, the RN is a licensed professional who is responsible for using clinical reasoning, developing, implementing and evaluating the nursing plan of care, managing both emotional and physical patients, assessing patient and family level of understanding to provide effective communication and education, working collaboratively with medical staff and providing quality care in a compassionate and professional manner. Every day, our Labor and Delivery (L&D) RNs have the special privilege of helping women and their families bring new people into the world. Our L&D RNs care for women during labor and childbirth, monitoring the baby and the mother, coaching mothers during and after delivery and administering medications. In addition, our L&D RNs must be ready to care for any complications that may arise and be able to assist the physician with procedures such as caesarian sections, episiotomies and epidurals. Ideal Labor & Delivery RN candidates will be experienced in Labor & Delivery and Antepartum Care procedures, understand labor and delivery practices and have excellent problem solving and communications skills.

Specialty/Department/Practice - Labor & Delivery Unit

Shift/Schedule - 36 hours/week Full Time Days 7am - 7pm

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required

RN license required

BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required; Intermediate/Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications are preferred

Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in Labor & Delivery (low and high risk) required

Internships are available for new graduates and experienced nurses in a variety of specialties. New classes begin in January, June, and September.
