As a Manufacturing Manager, they will oversee the day-to-day operations of the F-35 manufacturing process. This will include the manufacturing facilities, planning, coordinating, and directing the activities (processes) that result in good canopies.
The successful candidate will recommend and implement innovative solutions and improvements for the overall F-35 operation.
This position is responsible for determining root cause failure or poor performance and developing the corrective actions necessary for sustainable resolution.
The successful candidate will provide operational understanding as it relates to data analysis, problem solving, and objective attainment.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in and contribute towards defining a project’s scope and content. Develop project budgets, schedules, quality standards and identify project support and documentation requirements.
Communicate the project to supporting departments and direct their activities to provide expertise as required by project scope and content.
Supervisors a staff that will oversee a 3 shift 80 person workforce.
Hire, train, and evaluate manufacturing workers, monitor workers to ensure they meet performance and safety requirements.
Act as change agent, identifying areas for performance improvement that are in alignment with the strategic direction of the facility.
Create report and set targets for PPG strategic metrics.
Drive improvement in the Texas operation through application of best practices (Six Sigma and Lean) and technology. Monitor results to ensure improvements are maintained and benefits are sustainable over the long term.
Assist business unit by filling gaps with functional knowledge and expertise.
Create and maintain operational improvement methodology.
Develop and deploy an F-35 processing document with the help of quality that will be distributed to all internal customers and will describe in detail the expectations both internally and externally for the facility.
Develop and maintain F-35 Operational Policies and Procedures.
Ensure there is a mutual understanding of request and that the resulting report meets end users expectations.
This position is a newly created role for this facility. The position will manage the overall F-35 operation.
This is a union environment.
Qualifications
Possess a Bachelor’s Degree (technical or business) from an accredited college or university.
At least eight to ten (8 - 10) years of Military Transparencies experience in a managerial or project management role with proven skills in problem solving / troubleshooting preferred.
Working knowledge of the integration of Lean and 5-S in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in Aerospace industry is necessary.
Strong analytical skills required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Ability to simultaneously manage and prioritize multiple requests required.
