- Implement new and enhanced technologies into the network
- Adoption and adherence to current IT policies and processes
- Design, implement and support load-balancer solutions
- Design, implement and support Next Generation Firewalls or Unified Threat Management appliances
- Support the design and analysis of LAN/WAN/WLAN network improvements and enhancements
- Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving support for network issues.
- Monitor system hardware and software and manage system and service performance.
- Maintains documentation regarding network configuration, operating procedures, and records relating to network hardware and software
- Determine capacity and performance planning goals
- Prepare evaluation studies and make recommendations for vendor management and/or device selection
- Participate in on-call rotation to respond to needs of a 24x7 environment. Must be flexible to work extended hours when required and be available for periodic weekend work
- Perform other job-related duties as required
- A bachelor' s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or other related degree required
- At least 5-8 years of experience supporting, installing, configuring and troubleshooting enterprise network environments is preferred
- Subject matter expertise across various enterprise identity authentication technologies ranging from AAA (RADITACACS), 802.1X technologies (Wired/Wireless), RSA and token-based systems.
- Experience with Aruba ClearPass Policy Server, and/or Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Cisco Access Control System (ACS) is preferred
- Experience with Network Access Control (NAC) 802.1X for Wired and Wireless networks
- Experience working with SSL Certificate Authorities, and certificate management
- Strong experience and detailed technical knowledge in security engineering, system and network security, authentication and authorization protocols, cryptography and application security
- At least 3 years of recent experience in a Cisco environment with wireless engineering competency
- Aruba, Juniper, Palo Alto and Fortinet experience preferred
- At least 2 years supporting public cloud deployments (e.g. AWS, Azure, Softlayer)
- Cisco CCNA certification required, CCNP/CCDP preferred
- Must have industry standard knowledge in LANs, WANs, and WLAN technologies and protocols
- Working knowledge of hardware should include common router, switch, firewall, VPN, and management platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and Fortinet
- Ability to think and troubleshoot full OSI stack from L1 though L7 including the ability to help App/Dev teams with application networking concerns
- Experience managing enterprise IP addressing schemes
- Network management and troubleshooting skills should include working knowledge of protocol analyzers, change management, and network monitoring systems
