Position Overview :

Power. We know all about it. As oneof our engineers, you’ll help to provide solutions to our customer’s powerproblems. The Power Systems Controls group is a full-service systems integrator with the capability to integrate thenecessary equipment and technologies to provide a complete power automation solution.

Our teambrings extensive skills and experience with a variety of leading HMI softwarepackages enabling us to design graphically rich, easy-to-use operatorinterfaces that take advantage of the latest standalone or web-basedtechnologies.

Our experience transcends a multitude of equipment manufacturers,software packages, and network architectures, including all major OEMs HMI,PLCs, and components.

We offer single point responsibility, a high level ofengineering and systems integration expertise, and a unified focus on costeffective solutions, seamless integration, HMI development, energy managementtools, and professional turnkey system design and implementation.

The PowerSystems Controls Engineering Internship with the Electrical EngineeringServices and Systems Division is designed to provide opportunitiesto a diverse mix of students who demonstrate the same high level of ethics,values, creativity and performance we expect from our employees.

During the12-week paid internship, students will work on projects that have a measurableimpact on our business and will be coached and mentored by Eaton leaders.

Yourengineering assignments will primarily involve the programming of programmablelogic controllers (PLC’s). You will help write and deploy complex powertransfer and other control schemes including Main-Tie-Main transfer schemes,load shedding / peak shaving schemes, breaker control schemes, SCADA systemdevelopment, and generator control.

This internship will help prepareyou for both technical and future leadership roles at Eaton. As an intern, youwill be provided with a structured training and development curriculum;

a blendof instructor-led, virtual classrooms, eLearning courses, and on-the-jobtraining to assist you in developing your career.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications(Including Educational Requirements) :

Activelyenrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in engineering with a major inElectrical, Electrical and Computer, Electrical Engineering Technology or,Mechatronics from an accredited institution

Minimumcumulative GPA of 2.80 or higher (please do not round)

Mustbe legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship,now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications :

Overallcumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Courseworkin electrical engineering or computer engineering preferred

Experiencewith engineering software (AutoCAD, MATLAB)

Experience with programming PLC and HMI

Excellentwritten, oral communication and presentation skills

Demonstratedleadership experience within campus and / or the community

Position Criteria :

Geographicalflexibility to relocate within the United States for the duration of theInternship Program

PhysicalDemands : While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularlyrequired to stand, walk, stoop, squat, reach to or below shoulder level, lift,carry, push, pull, and use hands to handle and feel.

The employee is frequentlyrequired to climb and reach above shoulder level. The employee is regularlyrequired to lift / carry up to 50 pounds.

The employee is frequently required topush / pull up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to push / pullgreater than 50 pounds with assistance.

Thisrole may include travel (up to 25%) within a local region as determined by theIntern Assignment Manager.

Transportationto and from the worksite and for incidental business travel is theresponsibility of the intern; however, expenses for required and approvedbusiness travel (not including the worksite) will be reimbursed.

Thesummer internship culminates with a formal presentation where students showcasetheir success stories to leaders of the organization and receive feedback ontheir performance.
