Job Description:
  • Provide management, engineering and logistics support services to US Air Force program managers and project engineers during the design, integration, testing, maintenance, logistics support and field service support on Peregrine aircraft and ground systems.
  • Reviews, analyzes and evaluates developmental sustainment issues related to program development and integration
  • Monitors contract cost, schedule and performance milestones during contract life.
  • Develops and presents briefings to senior customer and government personnel.
  • Participates in the transformation of user mission requirements into technical specification and contractor statements of work.
  • Provides support during technical evaluation of contractor work proposals to both Air Force and government contracting officers.
  • Manages emergency orders/quick reaction contracts to remedy time critical issues as they arise from urgent end user requirements.
  • Responsible for providing quality assurance support to Big Safari FMS Programs
  • Collects and analyzes aircraft Quality Performance Indicators and makes recommendations to Program Managers to improve aircraft reliability and maintainability
  • Monitors and reviews FMS support contracts to ensure they have current information concerning operating locations, on-going maintenance or support activities, and identifies any limitations that would lead to mission system degradation, or sustainability
  • Performs equipment inspections and aircraft special mission systems installation inspections to ensure compliance with military and contractor workmanship technical process specifications and standards
  • Reviews and performs validation testing of aircraft and mission systems technical publications and user manual documentation
  • Verifies and performs testing upon developmental hardware/software to ensure contracted system performance specifications are being accomplished
  • Required to review and verify all mission systems ground and flight test plans are accurate and satisfy all necessary system performance objectives are met prior to final acceptance
  • Responsible for monitoring all required ground and flight testing of specialized mission system equipment
  • Participate as crewmember on calibration, modification, quality acceptance and customer demonstration flights for assigned aircraft
  • Support Quick Reaction Capabilities (QRC) system installation on FMS assigned aircraft; includes all aspects of design, installation, operation, maintenance, and documentation
  • Travel as required to support program meetings, installation of equipment, completion of maintenance bulletins, updating/testing of modified software and to provide customer support and training as required.
  • Develop, verify and approve maintenance bulletins to add operational capability or resolve reliability/maintainability issues on fielded mission systems
  • Review daily mission status reports from the operating commands to detect deficiencies in system performance and identify negative trends in reliability and maintainability

Minimum Qualifications
  • A current TOP SECRECT/SCI Security Clearance
  • Current Class III flight physical, or ability to obtain a Class III flight physical
  • At least 5 years of experience as qualified Airborne Operator or Airborne Systems Engineer (ASE) on-board ISR platforms, such as RC-135 weapon system platforms. Instructor/Evaluator experience highly preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience as Program Integrator or Product Assurance Manager for mission systems on BIG SAFARI programs. 645 th AESS depot level maintenance facility preferred
  • Big Safari Test Director qualified, or ability to become qualified
  • A proven record in complex problem solving, effective communication, decision-making, financial management, program and production management abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, SAP, and CAD programs
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and schematic diagrams
  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Experience and knowledge with USAF AFIs to include flight regulations, maintenance orders and logistics support concepts
  • Familiar with DoD information/support systems
