Position SummaryAs an Engineering Leader you will be responsible for building, mentoring, land leading mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineers in our Texas offices on a wide range of projects. As part of our integrated design teams, you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design. You would be responsible for building and leading a team of Engineers in our Texas offices. You would participate in the design process of building electrical systems, including the preparation of detailed engineering design drawings and calculations.The successful candidate will
  • Assist in developing project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
  • Build a team of engineers across our three Texas offices: Houston, Austin, and Dallas.
  • Coordinate electrical design requirements with architecture, structure, and other disciplines.
  • Maintain operations within budgetary guidelines.
  • Achieve operational efficiency to meet goals.
  • Deliver operational projects within deadlines.
  • Lead and perform analysis, design, and documentation of large and/or complex building engineering systems including power distribution, lighting design, fire alarm, security, audio/visual and telecommunications systems.
  • Serve as engineering systems expert, conduct research in problem areas of considerable scope/complexity and devise solutions.
  • Meet with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors, and others to address engineering discipline issues and to develop effective working relationships.
  • Conduct quality control review of projects and implement guidelines, and overall standards.
  • Visit construction sites as required for observation and answer contractor questions.
  • Prepare, review, and approve field observation reports.
  • Manage operations execution and expectations.
  • Develop, communicate, and update operations plans to include information such as objectives, schedules, funding, and staffing.
  • Schedule, facilitate, and document meetings with staff and clients related to overall operations.
  • Participate in the development and negotiation of contract as well as service change request; and initiate, review, or approve modifications to plans.
  • Partner with sector and practice leadership to perform all HR functions such as selection, training and evaluation.
  • Support business development initiatives by assisting the RFP process and interview process.
  • Maintain industry leading workplace practices to drive operating unit and culture towards a great place to work status.
Required Qualifications
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Revit experience.
  • Prior experience leading a team of engineers.
  • Proven experience as an engineer designing unique electrical systems on complex projects.
  • Experience with specification writing, construction administration, multi discipline coordination, scheduling, and management of multiple electrical engineering projects.
  • Experience with direct client contact.
  • Experience in Texas with a consulting engineering or A/E firm as an engineer designing electrical systems for Educational projects (K-12 and Higher Education), Justice + Civic Projects, Workplace projects, or Cultural + Preforming Arts projects.
  • An appreciation and understanding of architectural design.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS Degree in Engineering.
  • LEED Accredited Professional with experience participating in LEED projects.
  • Experience and interest in sustainable building design.
