Distribute books and supplies to students. Assist in inventory of the Bookstore.
Ensure accuracy of G/L transactions
Manage the campus bookstore.
Organize the purchase of textbooks on a term-by-term basis by compiling information regarding class-required reading. Obtain information on class offerings from Academic Affairs and checking listed textbooks with instructors and Program Deans. Periodic review of book/supply quantities is necessary in order to ensure that sufficient books are on hand to satisfy customer demand.
Give Purchase Order to designated Finance Rep of textbooks at least 7 weeks prior to the beginning of each term from vendors selected by the University.
Conduct inventory and stocktaking: deliveries, returns, issued copies and remaining stock Perform month end inventory count of textbooks and report to the controller.
Maintain accurate files of textbook requirements and stocks.
Provide bookstore support to students, staff and faculty personnel.
Process receipts and credit vouchers for bookstore sales.
Unpack, organize and stock books on shelves.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Math skills are imperative
Good communication skills required
Cash handling experience is required
Strong organizational and time management skills
Attention to detail and the ability to perform several tasks simultaneously
Excellent customer service
Required Experience
High School diploma or its equivalent required
At least 1 year in retail, general office or book store experience
