Job Description: Position Details:

Client: ChevronRole: Azure DevOps lead (backfill)

needs ecommerce/mobil app experience

Project Details - Size, Scale, Scope?
  • Subchapter supports two platforms
    • ITSP platform - 2 lines
      • Operation Technology (OT) product line: working on IoT devices and network and cyber security and deployment worldwide
      • IaC product line: IT foundation core team and that team covers a lot of the Ansible templates that get deployed enterprise wide
      • Technical stack primarily consists of: Ansible, Python, C#
    • Sales & product management platform - 2 lines
      • Downstream side of Chevron
      • Marketing product line: supporting mobile apps (gas station) & settlements and loyalty programs that get deployed across the company domestically and internationally
      • Product management lifecycle: Product lifecycle in terms of creating a product and they work to implement and deploy that, test, and then sunset if it doesn't work out in the market
        • Example: Additives added to the petroleum project/change
      • Technical stack primarily consists of: Salesforce, Azure (migrating to), Ansible
        • In migration phase of legacy applications to Azure Cloud
Day to Day Responsibilities/typical day look like:
  • Technical leadership of the team - will not be doing much if any hands-on work in coding/architecture but more reviewing
  • Working with 3rd party vendors and guide them around architecture (CDAS - Chevron Digital architecture framework) and review the code and provide guidance in particular-around the mobile application
    • Application is primarily C# (Xamarin?) based
  • Train internal team around and make sure that they have some knowledge in-house and train others on the team around what is put together
  • Will be tasked with understanding and breaking down the full software lifecycle including testing and deployment to external customers
  • Heavy integration work with APIs and data lakes
  • Partner with in-house architect as needed on projects
  • Will be working on the digital platform as well as any experience in that arena is a plus
  • More concerned for this role with breadth versus depth of knowledge
What are the top must-have technologies/required experience for the position?
  • Software/OOP exposure in C# (preferred) or JAVA
  • Don't need to be hands-on but more understand software lifecycle and be able to review code work done
  • Azure (CI/CD pipelining, Azure DevOps)
  • They don't have any "experts" here yet so need someone who can really help them with the full-scale migration and upscaling here as well
  • Not as concerned with all the Azure services right now but more the better - emphasis on the DevOps ones though
  • Preferred qualifications:
  • Ansible
  • Education or Certification Requirements: More worried with hands-on experience than certs.

    Level of experience target (junior/mid/senior and/or years of experience): 3+ years with Azure and 3+ years in senior/lead level role (ideally a lead but architect or senior engineer may also work)

    Industry Experience requirements/preferences: Not required - digital experience would be more relevant than oil/gas for this team if anything
