JOB SUMMARY: The Canrig commercial analyst is responsible for studying customer and market conditions to assess the potential sales of parts, products and services. They will be able to analyze qualitative data, trends, strategies, and competition aiming at increasing competitiveness in market as well as productivity with various metrics. The goal of the Canrig commercial analyst is to assist the company in determining what products are in demand, who will purchase the products and, in some cases, assist with pricing. The Canrig commercial analyst collects and documents business requirements and analyzes business needs to reduce data into actionable information which can be used to inform parts sales, planning and procurement activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Genera
  • Analyzes cost and pricing to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Design specific research methods such as questionnaires
  • Devise and evaluate methods for collecting data (Surveys, Questionnaires, Opinion Polls)
  • Gather and analyze statistical data using modern and traditional methods to collect it
  • Compile and analyze data over time to forecast sales trends
  • Interpret data, formulate reports and make recommendations
  • Present actionable information and insights to team members and management
  • Review past sales data to determine trends in productivity
  • Prepare accurate reports using data from internal and external sources
  • Communicate with management team regularly
Specific:
  • Interpret available data regarding inventory levels and compare to customer rig activity, open quotes, active sales, trends and budget(s) to advise leadership on gaps, so that immediate and well informed, data driven decisions can be made quickly.

MInimum qualifications / SKILLS:
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must have at least 2 years related experience.
  • General business process knowledge a strong plus.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Deep knowledge of data warehousing, and mining
  • Adequate knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc)
  • Working knowledge with CRM programs
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills

preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree, favorable if specific to data sciences

BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES: Highly motivated, a self-starter and a solid team player. High standards and attention to detail are a must in order to produce quality work. Comfortable in advising senior management on the best ways to use provided data

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Possess search engines, web analytics, and business research tools acumen
  • Excellent knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS, SAS or similar), databases and MS Office
