- Our client, a Global Investment Management company, is looking to hire a Desktop Engineer in a Full-Time role. This is a hybrid role, and the right candidate must be able to commute to the office in Houston, Kansas City, or NYC at least 2 days/week. The candidate is expected to have experience creating application packages, and be passionate, curious, and excited about technology. As a member of a dynamic global team, you will set the bar for customer engagement, technology enablement, and be engaging with staff to optimize utilization. THE DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In this role, you will be creating application packages and managing applications across all platforms and businesses globally.
- You will collaborate closely with internal and external technology and business teams, so that the service can provide the best user experience possible.
- You'll also be a part of our transformational journey over the next 12-24 months, as application lifecycle management is a strategic pillar of the company's technology vision.
- THE SKILLS YOU NEED TO GET THE ROLE:
- Packaging of vendor and in-house-developed applications.
- Performing end-to-end application packaging and lifecycle services.
- Leveraging tools like Install Shield, AdminStudio, and Windows Installer.
- Scripting via PowerShell and application management via Microsoft Config Manager.
- Strong problem-solving skills including critical thinking, analysis, ability to work well under pressure, and manage parallel projects
- A quick learner and strong team player.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in a large enterprise operating system environment (beneficial but not required).
- Programming languages, such as C# and Python preferred
