Digital Product Manager Responsible for supporting the Director of Product Management of Digital Solutions in the development and execution of a comprehensive product strategy for one or more products or solution verticals of the fleet management software of Digital Solutions. This position will collaborate with a team of product managers and business analysts that is charged with a product line contribution as a business unit, accountable for product profitability, revenue growth, and competitive positioning of Digital Solutions products as well as commercial choices regarding development priorities. This team will guide the ongoing maintenance and support of existing products, build new products from existing ideas and help to develop new ideas based on industry experience and interaction with customers and prospects, requiring both technical and business savvy. This team will be accountable to work with marketing and sales to define go-to-market plans and strategies, positioning, key benefits, messaging, target customers, and market sizing. The ideal candidate will possess a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality. What You Will Do
  • Manage product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical choices in coordination with Sales, Product Development leadership, Account Management, and Customer Service/Support
  • Take ownership of one or more products or vertical solutions, accountable for product profitability and competitive positioning.
  • Set commercial direction for the product or solution vertical, considering market opportunity, market sizing, competitive positioning, pricing, and costs, and producing product roadmaps reflecting those commercial objectives.
  • Function as a subject matter expert and facilitate bringing a customer perspective in one or more aspects of fleet management (e.g. Asset Management, (Maintenance, Procurement, Drydocking) Regulatory Compliance, (e.g. Class, ISO, ISM, Port State), etc. both for internal teams and in external forums such as conferences and publications.
  • Assist the Sales team in responding to pre-sales inquiries and RFI responses and conducting in-depth product demos
  • Assist the Fleet Management Center of Excellence in the development of best practices supported by the software
  • Collaborate with a team of Product Managers to bring new development to market, maintain existing software, and prioritize all development work
  • Execute new product and feature development in close cooperation with the Development Center through clear market requirements and collaborative development, including oversight of testing strategies, acceptance testing, and documentation preparation.
  • Assist in the launch of new features and products within an established framework of activities (e.g. Pragmatic Marketing or equivalent)
  • Share industry knowledge and best practices in public forums such as customer meetings, seminars, user groups, etc.
  • Conduct or assist in occasional consulting assignments to drive successful implementations and/or achievement of customer excellence in fleet management
  • What You Will Need : Education & Experience
    • Minimum five years of experience in Marine or Offshore Fleet Management or equivalent experience from either a vendor or consulting perspective. Shipboard experience as a licensed officer in a commercial environment is strongly preferred.
    • Experienced in the use and application of fleet management software in support of efficient operations
    • Four-year university degree in Computer Science, Marine Transportation/Operations or related disciplines or equivalent work experience
    • A clear understanding of fleet management business processes and their application
    • Demonstrated team collaboration and leadership capability
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
