What We're Looking ForOur Houston office is seeking an Environmental Planning Intern for Summer 2023.Relocation and housing are NOT provided for this position.Primary Focus Will Include:Assist with analysis of environmental impacts from transportation projects

Assist with research, development and documentation of environmental impacts and planning for transportation projects, including preparation of technical documents supporting the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)

Assist with occasional fieldwork, including wetland delineations, vegetation identification, and threatened and endangered species surveys

Confer and collaborate with engineers regarding designs of transportation projects and potential environmental impacts

Could assist with planning public meetings

Assist with GIS mapping and analysis – of project location and environmental resources

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:Pursuing a major in Environmental Science, Natural Resources sciences, Environmental Resource Management, Natural Resource Management, Wildlife Biology/Wildlife Studies, Fishery or Forestry, Ecology, Geology, Historic Preservation, Anthropology, Archaeology, Environmental Planning

Major, coursework, interest in any of the above areas

Knowledge of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and various regulations, such as the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Endangered Species Act.

Previous internship experience

Problem solving and analytical skills

GIS skills

Works well in a team setting

What You'll NeedEssential Responsibilities:Assists project team members with various support tasks.

Conducts basic research and data collection.

Maintains records, collections and files related to specific projects.

Assist in the development of graphics, presentation materials and reports.

Performs other duties assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:Enrolled in a related undergraduate or graduate program
