Junior Drafter

GDH Consulting has an energy client in Houston, TX needing to add to their drafting team. This (minimum of a year contract) could potentially lead to a full time role.

The primary function of a Drafter is ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient design and delivery of Electrical and Instrumentation drawings from conception to as-built state and continued maintenance and updates afterwards.

Responsibilities:

Assists Engineering and Operations in Process Flow Diagrams (PFD)

Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID)

Facility Plot Plans, Electrical Hazardous Area Classification Plans, Electrical One Line Diagrams, Electrical Schematics, Panel Layouts, Emergency Operating Procedure Drawings, Cause & Effect Matrixes, Instrument Details and any other associated drawings

Prepares working plans and detail drawings and diagrams according to standards and specifications

Coordinates multiple design and drafting projects to ensure timely and quality deliverables

Communicates with internal and external stakeholders to determine needs and satisfactions

Monitors and reports on third-party performance, progress, and quality

Maintains, develops, and updates facility piping, mechanical, electrical, instrument, civil, and structural drawings and data

Skills:

Must be able to work under minimal supervision

Demonstrate a broad level of knowledge concerning industry codes, standards, and practices (i.e. ASME, API, ANSI, DOT, ISA, NEC, ACCI, AISC, UBC, ASCE, NFPA, AWS, NACE, IBC,

Education/Experience: 2-4 years of experience as a Drafter / Designer required

Minimum of 2 years of related experience in the oil and gas industry, performing Design and Drafting
