We have been retained by our client in Houston, Texas to deliver a Lead Python data engineer on a regular full-time, direct-hire basis. This team is experiencing growth and this big data practice is evolving/improving quickly. This role is part of a multi-faceted, multi-disciplined big data engineering practice / department. Your contributions, accomplishments and bonuses are tied to specific, and measurable results onboard this big data engineering and analytics practice/department. Turnover is low.We seek a Lead Python data engineer to take on a technical leadership role. We seek strong software engineering experience as applied to data engineering of python data frameworks. i.e. Software Architecture, Refactoring, TDD, Version Control, OOP, Functional Programming, etc.We seek a hands-on leader to design and create python data frameworks, create or work with some APIs, perform Test Driven Development along the way.The candidates we seek will have 7+ years of focused work experience programming data frameworks with Python and will have experience with some of these:
- Parquet, Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, data lake
- Python Pandas, Numpy, Pytest, Scikit-Learn, Tensorflow, Keras, Matplotlib, SpaCy, NLTK, Theano, Pytorch, Caffe, Caffe2
- Apache Airflow, Kubernetes, Distributed File Systems, Massively Parallel Processing (MPP), MongoDB, Azure Cosmos, HDFS, Cassandra, NoSQL
- PySpark, Apache Spark
