This role supports physicians in diagnosing and monitoring conditions related to pregnancy, gynecological health, and reproductive medicine. The technologist ensures patient safety, comfort, and dignity while adhering to established protocols, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinationsThis role supports physicians in diagnosing and monitoring conditions related to pregnancy, gynecological health, and reproductive medicineThe technologist ensures patient safety, comfort, and dignity while adhering to established protocols, ethical standards, and regulatory requirementsPerform obstetric ultrasounds (first trimester, detailed level II anatomy, nuchal trasnluceny, second/third trimester growth/follow-up, biophysical profile, fetal Doppler, and amniotic fluid assessment)Perform gynecologic ultrasounds (transabdominal and transvaginal) to evaluate pelvic structures, ovaries, uterus, and endometriumCapture high-quality diagnostic images and cine loops per physician order and protocolIdentify, measure, and document fetal structures, growth parameters, and anatomical findingsAssist in the evaluation of multiple gestations, high-risk pregnancies, and abnormal findingsProvide preliminary impressions to physicians while avoiding independent diagnosisMaintain accurate and detailed patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) systemPatient CareExplain procedures to patients, ensuring understanding and comfortMaintain a compassionate and professional demeanor with patients who may be anxious or in distressProtect patient privacy and adhere to HIPAA guidelinesAssist patients in positioning and provide physical support when necessaryTechnical & SafetyOperate ultrasound equipment, ensuring calibration, functionality, and cleanlinessSelect appropriate transducers, settings, and scanning techniques based on examination needsFollow infection control protocols, including proper cleaning and disinfecting of probesRecognize equipment malfunctions and report promptly for maintenanceWork closely with obstetricians, gynecologists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, and other healthcare providersCommunicate critical or urgent findings immediately to the physicianAssist in training new technologists, or ultrasound students as needed
