Genuent is hiring a PL/SQL Programmer Analyst for our direct client located in the Houston, TX area. This is a full-time, direct hire position. The candidate should be able to convert user requirements into a system functional specification. He or She will work closely with consultants/vendors to develop solutions based upon functional requirements. The candidate will create design documents; as well as, configure and program within the PSI Metals application framework. The position is a major contributor to increasing the Company's competitive position within the OCTG marketplace by enabling continuous improvement initiatives.Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provide system maintenance services to ensure application availability
- Analyze existing system(s), propose modification, and implement system improvements. This includes integration between systems
- Consult with users to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements
- Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs
- Use programming languages to code computer instructions from the systems documentation. Utilize any special programming techniques necessary to achieve the most effective program
- Coordinate and organize development, testing and implementation plans of vendor supported systems. Consults with and directs application vendors for support and upgrades
- Monitor performance of programs after implementation, including after-hours support
- Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections
- Excellent relational database design and management skills including the ability to manage clustered environments and write complex SQL procedures (Oracle PL/SQL Preferred)
- Solid understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) highly desired
- Ability to grasp integration methods with plant automation devices and systems
- Ability to operate within a LINUX and/or Windows platform
- Information technology systems design and structured programming including object-oriented programming concepts
- High level computer programming languages such as MS Visual Studio .NET (VB.NET, C#), PL/SQL, ASP, HTML desired
- Ability to create custom reports using Crystal Reports or similar products
- Familiar with network and database communications
- Bachelor's degree required. Preferred major in computer science or computer information systems.
- 3+ years' of post graduate experience
