JOB SUMMARY The Project Manager position is seen as both a Project Manager and resource manager for Commercial projects. Accountable for the delivery of a portfolio of related projects or the most complex and challenging projects such as the RigCLOUD technologies. Responsibilities also include directly or indirectly manages, mentors, and directs multiple project managers. The Project Manager is seen as an expert in the project management process and develops lower level project managers in understanding project management procedures. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides initial scoping of projects, including determining if the work warrants a project manager
  • Focused on day to day operational execution but will be an active participant in planning and strategy for the group
  • Establishes measures to assess project effectiveness/success
  • Promotes project management best practices throughout the organization
  • Leads a portfolio of projects and/or very large, complex projects or programs, typically involving multiple vendors, multiple technologies, leading edge technologies, significant business risk, and/or broad implications for the IT architecture
  • Obtains an understanding of the Product as part of the Project Management to better understand risks, requirements and facilitate development efforts
  • Develops, maintains, analyzes, and reports metrics and KPIs to better understand the managed portfolio
  • Avoids risk by analyzing data, anticipating, identifying, and mitigating risk factors across scope, cost, schedule, and resources
  • Works with partner teams in the proposal phase to ensure initiatives are defined at the appropriate level of detail to be accepted by IT for project initiation activities
  • Accountable for achieving the ongoing success criteria for all projects within their representative portfolio
  • Influences and holds team members accountable for assigned tasks. Provides governance and oversight to ensure projects are following project management processes
  • Performs audits of projects within their area of focus to ensure quality and compliance
  • Provides input to continuously improve and enhance the project and SDLC methodologies
  • Trains resources in the approved methodologies
  • Assures project compliance to approved methodologies
  • Oversees all phases of the project, coordinating with the business area, vendors, and other relevant areas of IT
  • Conducts feasibility, risk, regulatory compliance, and ROI analysis for proposed projects. Presents a recommendation related to project feasibility.
  • Leads the development of RFP/RFI process
  • Determines project timelines, milestones and actionable tasks using appropriate tools
  • Provides project assignments, manages project scope and ensures the quality of deliverables
  • Interfaces with customers and management to manage expectations, provide status updates on project and discuss concerns
  • Integrates the work of large teams and multiple vendors to deliver project success, ensures appropriate inclusion and representation
  • Manages and is accountable for execution to achieve desired & agreed upon stakeholder objectives and requirements
  • Conducts post-implementation review of project to ensure objectives were met, and to document and learn from any problems encountered
  • As a part of the PMO leadership team, meets with PMs, PLMs and Directors for updates to SDLC and PMO processes
  • Leads the training of all IT on SDLC and Project Processes
  • Reports status on activities, issues, projects, etc. to senior IT management
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Leads discussions with PMO leadership team, PLMs and Directors on updates to PMO processes and SDLC
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Five or more years of hands-on technical experience in information technology or related field
  • Demonstrated expertise across multiple domains areas of IT
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Over five years of hands-on functional experience in information technology or related field
  • Over five years of hands-on supervisory experience in information technology or related field
  • Over five years of project management experience with demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects at one time
