This will include overseeing the accounting work performed by The Hess India North Dakota Joint Venture Accounting Team in Bangalore and satisfying various ad-hoc requests.A successful candidate for this position will be a team-player with a sound understanding of oil & gas accounting, possess good communication and technical skills, and have high standards of excellence and attention to detail with a willingness to learn and the flexibility to work through peak work cycles.ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee the monthly accounting close for the Bakken Asset which will include the following:

Review the work performed by the Hess India Team to support the month-end close process which includes, but not limited to, vehicle mileage allocation, running cutback, overhead calculation and posting, posting flat rate entries, and other JV entries.

Manage and maintain the JV Upstream and Midstream Allocation cycles and ensure correct master data set up. Utilize the JV Allocations dashboard to ensure the accuracy of financial results.

Review journal entries made by the Hess India Team to record any month-end close required transactions.

Maintain and monitor tasks in Workflow Communicator to ensure they are being completed in a timely fashion and the monthly close is progressing as scheduled so that deadlines are ultimately met. This includes monitoring processes performed in other accounting groups (including, but not limited to, G&A allocations, settlement, DD&A, and tax calculations)

Steward monthly executive summaries and comparative income statements with variance commentary. Work with other accounting and financial support groups to obtain the appropriate variance explanations as necessary.

Present executive summaries and comparative statements to management in monthly closing meetings.

Coordinate processing of PMI’s by Hess India Team and propose recording accruals for material transactions as needed. Liaise with the Land team to ensure PMI process flow is optimal and executed avoiding bottlenecks.

Participate and lead various monthly and weekly operating rhythms with Land and Finance Support Teams to maintain accurate JV owner decks and perform correcting entries as needed.

Participate and play a lead role in the monthly Non-Billable cost review process while managing any follow-up corrections and process improvement opportunities identified as a result of these reviews.

Prepare and remit quarterly Payout statements in electronic format for hosting on online Owner Payout Statement portal. Work with the third-party service provider to address any file submission issues. Ensure the accuracy of payout statements by coordinating the process with Land and Revenue Accounting teams.

Lead and participate in various process automation projects as well as identify and manage proposed process improvements stemming from performing the daily work activities.

Provide analysis and supporting documentation to external auditors and the Hess SOX Team as required.

Oversee the gathering of various data by the Hess India Team to be used in the yearly statutory reporting process and work closely with Tax teams to ensure the data accuracy and consistency.

Manage Non-Op JIB review process by authorizing the payments in SAP and oversee the Non-Op payout process

Satisfy various ad-hoc requests and perform special project work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:Experience:· 5-10 years of oil & gas accounting experience· 5 plus years of JVA related experienceRequirements:

Strong oil & gas accounting skills

Good understanding of E&P operations

Strong analytical skills

Interest in Lean, process improvement, and automation opportunities.

Strong computer skills, including SAP, HFM, Excel, and Word

Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills – ability to work effectively with all levels; good team player; ability to exhibit energy, enthusiasm, and a positive outlook.

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong customer service skills

Ability to adapt to new work processes, procedures, and/or requirements

Education/Training:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related Business field required

Master’s degree in Accounting or Master’s of Business Administration degree is a plus

Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant certification preferred
