Work ranges from strategic to tactical as well as participating in the deployment of new information technology projects.Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides solutions and recommendations for application performance improvement.
  • Assists with troubleshooting and resolution of production system issues as needed.
  • Maintains and monitors compliance to corporate Security policies
  • Participates in the modeling, prototyping, analysis, configuration, construction, and deployment of technology components solution
  • Researches, identifies and recommends industry best practices for solving business problems.
  • Performs periodic performance reviews to maintain Storage, Virtualization and Backup infrastructure at optimal efficiency.
  • Monitors existing infrastructure hardware and software.
  • Performs all necessary updates to virtual hosts and guests related to VMware.
  • Identifies events, alerts, or configurations that may have negative impact to the environment and resolve or escalate according to company polices.
  • Performs installations, patches, upgrades, capacity planning and performance tuning, through approved change management mechanisms.
  • Enters, tracks, and updates incident and changes in ticket management system.
  • Provides tier 2 support for team members and other support teams.
  • Assists in the administration of Enterprise storage systems.
  • Provides with an after-hours support rotation and implementation as needed.
  • Maintains knowledge of IT Infrastructure architecture, standards and practices and consistently applies these standards.
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ensures the ability to recover the system environment to a current operational state in a timely manner, in the event of a major system problem or disaster.
clear="all" Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or minimum 5 years of comparable experience
  • Minimum of 4 years total VMWare administration experience. (Implement, Upgrade, Support, Maintain).
  • Preferred - VMware Certified Professional 5 Data Center Virtualization (VCP5-DCV)
  • Experience implementing/administering VMWare
  • Experience implementing/administering Veeam (preferred)
  • Experience administering NetApp Clustered DataONtap
  • Experience working with formal architecture methodologies (ITIL)
  • Administration skills for a complex 24x7 large environments
  • Experience in a Linux based environment
  • Experience in a Windows based environment
  • Hands-on installation, upgrade, production support
  • Adherence to processes and understanding the importance of documentation is required.
