Job Title: Marketing Associate

Reports To: Director of MarketingStatus: Full Time Salary-ExemptCompensation: Commensurate with experience.Schedule: Weekdays with some evenings and weekendsBenefits Offered: The Hobby Center offers a complete health benefits package, paid vacation and sick, paid holidays, and a 403(b) plan.

Responsibilities include

  • Email marketing
  • Create and deploy marketing emails, including monthly and weekly e-newsletters and patron communications
  • Maintain an email schedule to support the marketing plans and to distribute communications in a timely and consistent manner including proper workflow and proofing by necessary parties
  • Collaborate with marketing team and other departments when needed to obtain appropriate content and media approvals
  • Research potential new design templates for email communications

  • Social media
  • Assist in content creation and publishing on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Monitor replies and messages on social media, including nights and weekends
  • Maintain an ongoing social media calendar, planning posts to meet institutional priorities and programming needs & communications
  • Assist with developing and deploying content for paid social media campaigns, working with departments as needed for content and approval
  • Posting video content via YouTube

  • Website
  • Assist with daily updates for the Hobby Center website, serving multiple departments throughout the organization
  • Make additional content and ticketing updates for the website, as needed including creation of landing pages
  • Crop and post images or edit content for the website, as needed
  • Proof existing Hobby Center webpages and create audit of pages needing updates

  • Video, Photography and Graphic Design
  • Photograph and video people and events for blogs or social media and edit images in Photoshop, as needed
  • Edit and create short videos for blogs, social media, and email, as needed
  • Create print and digital assets including posters, direct mail, invitations, flyers and brochures for all areas of the company including Marketing, Development, Education and Special Events

  • General Marketing
  • Works closely with Marketing Manager for all venue and series social media content
  • Assists with securing and execution of promotional events
  • Liaises with current grassroots promotional contacts and develops new partnership for media and non-media promotional ideas
  • Support local publicist with occasional press interviews or events, including escorting talent and overseeing interviews when needed
  • Create and maintain front of house collateral, video and signage to ensure relevant information is displayed
  • Interacts with ticketing and box office for fulfillment of promotional and trade ticket requests
  • Update Hobby Center events on various community calendars

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Theatre or Arts Administration is preferred
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in related work
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and understanding of integrated digital marketing campaigns
  • Paid social media marketing experience (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) a plus
  • Working knowledge of Constant Contact or other similar web based email platforms
  • Experience in InDesign, Photoshop and Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Proficiency in photography and video shooting and editing
  • Familiarity with HTML coding for email and websites. Knowledge of google tag manager and pixeling a plus
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills are a must
  • Attention to detail, proof-reading, copy-editing skills
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
  • Must demonstrate an ability to prioritize, multi-task, remain highly organized, and exhibit attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and team-player approach
  • Dynamic, proactive team players who can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Evening and weekend work as needed
