As a Jr. Distribution Planner, based out of our Houston headquarters, your mission will be to plan and manage material requirements and collaborate with several different groups to support an effective and efficient production operation. Position Responsibilities:

Plan and manage material requirements for established and new products using ERP/MRP systems and mathematical modeling functions within Microsoft Excel.

Plan both finished goods and component inventory levels.

Schedule purchase orders and provide deliveries for sales quotes and the operations assembly group.

Analyze the forecast provided by sales and historical sales data to create the buying plan, regulate safety stocks, and recommend expedites and de-expedites in order to meet demand while maintaining optimum inventory levels.

Work on a team with other internal groups and with vendors to resolve problems in delivery, quality, and part approval.

Ensure a consistent, effective line of communication with manufacturing, assembly, and sales departments

Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly with all departments to provide seamless quality customer service.

Use time-management and multi-tasking skills to handle a variety of requests and functions demanded by the job.

Ideal Experience/Qualifications:

Preferred degrees: BS Industrial Distribution, BS Industrial Engineering, BBA Supply Chain Management

A successful candidate will be organized,Âdetail oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and have the ability to prioritize and execute the plan to meet deadlines.

Preferable experience with planning and optimizing inventory levels including calculating safety stocks, reorder points and forecasts.

Good communication skills and preferable familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and their functions.

Knowledge of production, manufacturing, procurement, and subcontracting processes.

APICS Certification a plus.
